MED MODIFIED SPECIAL STROKE CRANKSHAFTS
As with all race engines the primary objective is to allow the engine to achieve it maximum BHP in the shortest possible time. With this in mind MED originally designed the wedging process, and now the NEW I.C.E ( Improved Counterbalance Effect) to the crankshaft. The lighter the reciprocating engine components the quicker the engine can accelerate thus reaching the maximum BHP in a shorter period in time, the result obviously a faster lap time
Long Stroke
84.3 mm Reground, Ni – Temp, Wedged & X-drilled
Reground to 84.3mm stroke on the big ends to 1.625 size to accept Cooper ‘S’ conrods to race tolerances then crossdrilled on both main bearings and big end bearing journals to the original Leyland Special Tuning specification
Then the crankshaft is wedged to our latest design to leave maximum counterbalance opposite to the big end diameter, then ni – tempered, checked for alignment, micro polished journals and finally balanced
£325.00 – exchange basis 12G1505 crankshaft accepted only
84.3 mm Reground, Ni – Temp, X-drilled, Wedged & I.C.E
Reground to 84.3mm stroke on the big ends to 1.625 size to accept Cooper ‘S’ conrods to race tolerances then crossdrilled on both main bearings and big end bearing journals to the original Leyland Special Tuning specification
Then the crankshaft is wedged to our latest design to leave maximum amount of material opposite to the big end diameter to improve the counterbalance.
The final machining operation is to further enhance the counterbalance by machining the crankshaft to our I.C.E specification ( Improved Counterbalance Effect)
Finally the crankshaft is ni – tempered, checked for alignment, micro polished journals and finally balance
£435.00 – exchange basis 12G1505 crankshaft accepted only
Short Stroke
78.3 mm Reground, Ni – Temp, Wedged & X-drilled
