MED 1430CC COMPLETE ENGINE UNIT

Why not try something a little different. Our long stroke 1430cc units produce great power with plenty of low down torque. Producing power from 115bhp upwards they are an ideal engine for trackday applications.

Cylinder block
Fully prepared cylinder block, bored and plateau honed, refaced, cam bearings fitted, supplied and fitted centre main strap, drilled for 11 stud head fixing, hot chemically cleaned and supplied with new oilway and core plugs, painted.

Crankshaft
Crankshaft hand selected offset ground to 84.3mm stroke then crossdrilled, wedged and ni-tempered with micro polished journals.

Conrods etc
Conrods are Cooper ‘S’ which are checked for alignment fitted with ARP rod bolts and balanced end over end

Pistons
Our exclusive performance Omega pistons are supplied and fitted to conrods

Quality bearings
Vandervell or ACL crankshaft bearings in race material are built into this engine

Camshaft & timing
A MED profile camshaft from the exclusive Piper range along with new followers, heavy duty duplex timing set, steel backed oil pump,along with our new lightweight steel V belt pulley and gold dynamic crank damper

Clutch assembly
Flywheel assembly is lightened and now fitted with our new heavy duty 20% stronger verto clutch cover, and our steel verto clutch centre.

Cylinder head
Fitted with our Gold quality 1.5 roller tip rockers and our Autotest Special head with 36.0 and 30.0 plasma nitrided race quality valves with waisted stems and 3 angle valve seats on both inlet and exhaust to maximize air flow. New hi-flow silicon bronze guides with special tapers to also aid air flow. Ports all fully modified with full valve guide boss removal, high roof inlet ports and matched to the standard exhaust manifold gasket. Combustion chambers reshaped for maximum flow with 3 angle valve seats. Lead free inserts fitted for the use with unleaded fuel and fully assembled with dual rate double valve springs

Gearbox
Gearbox is completely stripped to a bare gearbox casing, after which the casing is dipped into our decarbonising fluid bath to burn off all traces of oil, grease and paint. Before the gearbox is built we hot chemically clean the casing. It is then assembled with new genuine baulk rings, double roller bearing, single roller bearing, needle roller bearings, top quality central oil pick up pipe, genuine Rover competition differential pin and planet gears with new output and planet gears thrust washers.

Transfer gears
Transfer gears are also reshimmed on both idler gear and primary gear with new input spigot bearing and idler gear bearings

Final touch
The finishing touch as with all MED complete units is the use of new plated external nut and bolts and the assurance that the unit has been test bed run with all the necessary final adjustments carried out by our experienced technicians
