Round 13 - Prescott - 1st October 2011
The biggest field of 29 Healeys amassed at the world famous Prescott hill climb track on what turned out to be the hottest October day on record.
Tom Walker’s practice session got underway and as expected he set the pace with a first run of 51.04 and a second run of 49.74, over a half a second faster than the Sprite record and the first Healey to ever get under the sub-50 second barrier powered by his MED prepared engine!
In the two timed runs Tom Walker turned up the tempo lowering the hill record to a stunning 48.80 seconds - almost 2 seconds faster than the previous record and 1.5 seconds faster than the nearest competitor!!
The result of this event confirmed Tom Walker as the class winner in the Sprite class for 2011.
In podium position count back, Tom took the Overall 2011 HealeySport Sprint and Hill Climb Championship for the second year running and in two different cars!
