MED ROAD COMPETITION

Avery popular choice! This cylinder head comes finshed with 36.0mm inlet and 30.0mm exhaust valves manufactured from 21NS stainless steel forgingswhich areplasma nitrided for extra strength and wear characteristics, the valves run in our own silicon bronze valve guides. Both inlet and exhasut ports are modified to suit the engine configuration, exhaust/inlet manifold and carburation. The combustion chambers are reprofiled and finished off to gain the correct compression ratio for the engine. Finally assembled with our heavy duty valve springs, triple groove collets and valve retainers. These cylinder heads are drilled for 11 stud head fixings and painted ready for installation onto the engine.

MED RALLY SPECIAL

This cylinder head comes finished with 35.7mm inlet and 30.0mm exhaust valves manufactured from 21NS stainless steel forgings which are plasma nitrided for extra strength and wear characteristics, this specification comes with single groove valves which run in our own silicon bronze valve guides. Both inlet and exhaust ports are modified to a large port design to be used along with a Weber 45 DCOE and large bore exhaust manifold. The combustion chambers are re-profiled and finished off to gain the correct compression ratio for the engine. Finally assembled with our race valve springs, new single groove collets and new steel valve retainers. These cylinder heads are drilled for 11 stud head fixings and painted ready for installation onto the engine.

MED CLUBMAN - RACE

Flow bench designed and tested as our Clubman specification for maximum air flow on our Supaflow 110 flowbench. This head uses the very latest development in port design with high roof inlet ports and negative radius valve guide boss removal.

The combustion chamber is modified with full radius side walls and double radius valve seats which are all cut to race tolerances this helps maintain equal combustion chamber volume and equal valve spring fitted lengths. The valve seats are blended into both chamber and port to maximise air flow. The main significant difference with this specification is that we offset the centre line of the exhaust valve which in turn enables us to fit a larger exhaust valve, ideal for race engines.

This specification now comes with a 30.0mm exhaust and a 37.0mm inlet valve. The head comes fully assembled with race valves springs, steel valve caps and new single groove collets. Painted and ready to fit.

MED CLUBMAN - OFFSET RACE

This specification now comes with a 31.0mm exhaust and a 37.0mm inlet valve. They are race quality 21ns steel plasma nitrided with wasted stems and 3 angle valve seats. Before our own hi-flow silicon bronze valve guides are fitted the valve spring platforms are machined to maintain equal fitted length of the valve springs. The head comes fully assembled with race valves springs, steel valve caps and new single groove collets. Painted and ready to fit.

MED SERIES 6 - RACE

This is our ever famous 38.0mm - 31.0mm Series 6 full race cylinder head. We have been producing this specification for many years now with great success. It is used in all forms of motorsport all around the world and gives unbeatable power when fitted to the correct engine configuration. This cylinder head is using the very latest in port design development as tested on our Supaflow flow bench with high roof inlet ports and negative radius valve guide boss removal.The combustion chamber is fully modified with full radius side walls and double radius valve seats which are all cut to race tolerances to maintain equal combustion chamber volume, they are then blended into the chamber and ports to maximise air flow.

This offset series 6 cylinder head comes with a 31.0mm exhaust which has its centre line position offset enabling us to fit a large 38.0 inlet valve. These give the extra air flow on both inlet and exhaust which is required for large capacity race engines. The valves fitted are our own bespoke design produced from a one piece plasma nitride forging with a lightweight 6mm stem and 3 angle valve seat, probably the best valve by far that is available for the A series engine. Before our own 6mm hi-flow silicon bronze valve guides are fitted the valve spring platforms are machined to maintain equal fitted length valve springs.

Finally the head is carefully assembled with our lightweight titanium valve caps, dual rate valve springs and bespoke 6mm collets. Supplied along with the cylinder head are our button lash caps which locate inside to top of the titanium cap for the roller rockers to run giving a greater wipe area for high lift camshaft applications.

Machined to our own unique design, this specification has been used by many other engine builders and competitors in the historic racing scene for many years now. The same design is currently being used on our own historic race mini which is competing a very high level across Europe with great success. Our involvement in this series stems back many years producing successful works engines for many customers back in the 1980's. Cylinder head design has developed immensely over the years, port and combustion chamber profiles are now developed on the latest computer software. This information is fed to CNC machine centres which carry out a lot of machining within important areas of the cylinder head.
