The MED aluminium stub stacks have been extensively tested on our 110 Superflow flow bench to optimise the elliptical radius on the stub stack. The result is improved air flow to the carburettor and a proven increase in performance - on a wide range of different engines and rolling roads.
Combined with the genuine ITG air filter, this offers an unbeatable package for the single HIF44 1.75-inch SU carburettor. The filter base plate is laser cut from lightweight aluminium, while the specially-designed ITG filter with full radius sides gives an easy fit within the standard baulkhead. The filter is held in place by two quick release screws.
Whereas many aftermarket air filters have a solid plate opposite the carb mouth, the ITG design offers maximum airflow through an open-style foam filter.
On our 1293cc Road Competition engine with our H/T camshaft, the HIF44 Stub Stack System gave an extra 4.2bhp @ 5800 RPM over the cone filter.

Compared to paper or other filter technologies, reticulated polyester foam achieves optimum performance against three key criteria: Maximum Air Flow, Cleaning Efficiency and Dust Load-up Tolerance.
ITG filters allow air to pass through without causing a large drop in pressure, arresting a high proportion of airborne dust while feeding the engine clean air.
Dust Load-up Tolerance is the capability to absorb a large amount of dust without reducing air flow capacity.
