What is your shipping policy?

We ship around the world via DHL. For UK sales we offer a next-day delivery service, and although this is never guaranteed, the service is exceptionally good. Some items are assembled to order, which can delay dispatch. We aim to dispatch all orders in 1-2 days.

On busy days we may not be able to dispatch on the same day – we would always recommend phoning us before midday if you are dealing with a tight deadline and we will try our best to get the parts straight out.

For more information, and to learn more about international shipping, please see https://www.med-engineering.co.uk/pages/shipping

Do you keep all parts in stock?

Yes, we have a vast inventory of stock and aim to keep as much as possible on the shelf, ready to ship. Occasionally we do run out of components, and in this case we list them as ‘out of stock’. If you would like an alert when the parts become available again, please enter your email address on the stock alert button and you’ll be notified as soon as they’re finished.

Do you offer technical advice?

We’re more than happy to help existing and new customers with any technical problems. If you’re unsure on which products may be best suited, we’re here to advise. We’re aware that people have different experience levels, and with varying budgets, so let us know where you’re at and we can ensure you get the most from your A-Series project.

Please note, due to the number of technical requests we receive daily, we’re not always able to advise on components not purchased from MED.

Are your products covered by a warranty?

We offer a standard retail warranty against manufacturer defects. Due to the varied nature of installation and usage of our components, particularly for competition applications, we would ask that you contact us in the first instance with more detail, and we can advise from there. Particularly for electrical components, we will send the goods back to the manufacturer for testing, and offer advice on repairs or replacement as necessary.

Do you make components for all cars?

No, sorry, we specialise in the BMC A-Series engine, so the majority of our components are designed for use on classic Minis and Sprites. We do keep many generic competition parts that may be suitable for other cars, but we do not plan to branch into other marques at this time.

Do you rebuild engines?

We no longer offer engine rebuilding services, as we concentrate on producing and supplying the components instead. If you would like recommendations on A-Series engine rebuilding services, let us know your location and we can try to connect you with one of our many trade specialists.

Can I bring my Mini to you for a rebuild/service?

Unfortunately we only work on our own project cars at MED HQ, and film for Youtube, so we do not offer any workshop services. We do have recommended specialists locally, however, so let us know and we can point you in the right direction.

How long have you been working with the A-Series?

Since 1981! Steve Whitton started the company from a small workshop in Leicester, and we have outgrown three places since then as the business has expanded. For more information on MED’s heritage, please see www.med-engineering.co.uk/pages/about

I have bought a car with an MED engine/cylinder head. Can you tell me more about it?

Sure, we should have records of our builds going back to the early 1980s. Let us know the number that’s stamped on the engine or cylinder head and we can take a look through the archives. Please bear in mind that an engine originally built 20 or 30 years ago may have been rebuilt several times since then, so it may only be a loose guide.

Do you keep spare parts for your kits?

Yes we usually keep a back-up of spares, whether that’s single Omega pistons or replacement gears and seals/gaskets. Component specifications have evolved over time, so we may not keep spares for older lines, but get in touch and we can try to help. Supply of single pistons is a common request and we do aim to keep as many varieties as possible.

Do you have a trade counter for collection?

Yes, our base in Lutterworth has a purpose-built shop where you can visit from 8-4, Monday-Friday. We have customer toilets, comfy sofas and keep our best-selling products on display in the showroom. We would highly recommend phoning in advance to ensure we are available for your visit, and that the parts you require are in stock.

Would you be willing to sponsor my project/racing/event?

We receive regular sponsorship requests, and unfortunately it’s not something we can usually take on, as we allocate our marketing budget years in advance. If you have any publicity or media requests, please contact us and we will try our best to accommodate.
