Description

A tried-and-tested kit to improve the rod change selector oil seal, which is prone to leaking. 


To install, remove the original sleeve and oil seal, if fitted, then slide the new sleeve with rubber seal over the rod into the gearbox housing.


The rubber dust cover then fits against the seal for further protection.

Does this suit all classic Mini gearboxes?

Only rod change transmissions, those built from 1973 onwards, with the two rods from the rear of the casing and a separate shifter unit.

What is the purpose of this kit?

It does what is says on the 'tin', and helps to minimise oil leaks from the rear of the classic Mini gearbox - a common area for drips.

Can I install this in situ?

Arrow

It is more tricky, but with the rod change mechanism removed, you should be able to do this. Ideally install this kit as part of a full gearbox rebuild.
