MINI FLYWHEEL LOCKING TOOL
Description
Here's the most secure method of holding the crankshaft in place to remove the flywheel or damper bolt. This sturdy locking tool bolts in place of the Mini starter motor and securely holds the flywheel by the ring gear.
Some use old bearing shells or flat blade screwdrivers to attempt the job, leading to many grazed knuckles and much damage!
A good investment for any Mini DIY mechanic.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does this work?
Firstly remove the starter motor, then the flywheel tool bolts in place to lock against the ring gear teeth. It's a very secure fitment, and much safer than using a big screwdriver or similar, especially if the flywheel bolt is very tight.
Does it fit all classic Minis?
Yes, and Metros too.
Do I need anything else for the job?
We also keep heavy-duty flywheel pullers, the strongest on the market, part number MED-6175-FP. If you have a particularly stubborn flywheel, this tool is much stronger than the budget versions that can bend and break.
