Our own high quality competition layshaft, made in the UK from superior EN36C material and heat treated for extra durability.

The rod change layshaft suits standard gearsets, aftermarket straight-cut types and also the MED Dog Engagement Gearset.

For four-synchro remote change gearboxes, you will need a different design of layshaft to suit synchro gearsets or the MED Dog Engagement Gearset.

Available fitments;

A+ rod change, to suit both synchro and MED dog engagement gearsets

A-Series remote change, to suit MED dog engagement gearset

A-Series remote change, to suit synchro gearsets

Please note, this will not suit Sprite/Midget transmissions.

What's the advantage of an MED classic Mini layshaft?

Our design is machined to exact tolerances from EN36C steel, making this an ideal upgrade for any fast road or competition Mini. It's far stronger than the standard layshaft, which can flex and break with enthusiastic use.

Do these fit all classic Minis?

We have three different options to cater for the most popular Mini gearbox options. The rod change A+ will suit gearbox casings stamped with 'DAM4818', 'DAM2886' and 'DAM5626,' and that includes all gear set options. For pre A+ rod change and '22G1128' select the '4-synchro remote' option, and we make these for the MED dog box or standard style gear sets.

What's the difference between these three layshafts?

The rod change A+ shaft, pictured, has three different diameters where the layshaft bearings sit. The pre A+ version has two different diameters, while the pre A+ dog box version makes use of the larger A+ bearings.
