POT JOINTS LSD TYPE
Description
The MED pot joint LSD output shaft converts from the spline of a limited-slip differential to a regular Mini pot joint type.
This allows you to connect standard pot joint driveshafts to an LSD such as the NXG differential.
If the car has Hardy Spicer couplings on the driveshafts, look instead at the MED Hardy Spicer Output Shafts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which driveshaft setup are these designed for?
These output shafts are designed for a classic Mini fitted with a plate-type limited-slip differential such as the NXG, when using the later pot joints and shafts.
How do they fit?
The output shafts fit inside the splines of a limited-slip differential, the output shaft covers bolt on over the top, and the pot joint splines sit outside of the gearbox to fit into the pot joints.
What are they machined from?
We use a specialist grade of heat treated steel, which is well suited to high-stress driveline components, with excellent wear resistance.
Do these suit all classic Mini LSDs?
Yes, if they use the common 1.000" diameter 10-spline design, which covers the vast majority of Mini LSDs produced. The only exception we can recall are the early Jack Knight differentials that used a finer spline, if there are any of these still in use.
