Description

The MED Hardy Spicer Output Shafts are supplied complete with heavy-duty retaining washers and circlips.

These connect the spline of an NXG Limited-slip Differential unit to the Hardy Spicer coupling bolt pattern, so you upgrade to heavy duty Hardy Spicer Couplings and MED 300M Driveshafts.

Please note - these are designed to suit the smaller pot joint output covers/seals, or MED billet output shaft covers, as original Cooper S types are becoming extremely rare.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do these output shafts fit?

These match the 10-spline design of our NXG limited-slip differential (and many others) and connect up Hardy Spicer couplings on the driveshafts. With the circlips removed, they pass through the output shaft covers, then you refit the circlips and fit the covers complete with the shafts to the gearbox housing.

Will these suit other classic Mini limited-slip differentials?

Yes, if they use the common 1.000" diameter 10-spline design, which covers the vast majority of Mini LSDs produced. The only exception we can recall are the early Jack Knight differentials that used a finer spline, if there are any of these still in use.

How about an ATB/helical gear differential?

Apart from the very early Quaife units, these all tend to have pot joint output shafts pre-installed, so you will need a set of MED-3900-HS adapters instead if you wish to fit Hardy Spicer couplings.
