Description

The MED competition output shaft covers are CNC machined from billet alloy for extra strength, making a great upgrade over the stock covers, which can often become warped and damaged.

These covers suit all output shafts apart from original 1960s Cooper S/Hardy Spicer setups.

The bushes are designed to fit all 1.25" diameter shafts, so pot joints types plus all MED driveshaft adapters, which use this later size.

Supplied as a pair with a set of the correct cap screws to suit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the benefit of MED output shaft covers?

Arrow

These replace the standard Mini output shaft covers with a much stronger billet alloy design, reducing the chance of oil leaks from the transmission housing and giving a more substantial platform to lever against when removing pot joints. They also look stunning, and come with new bushes and seals, so no need to refurbish and ream the bushes in an old pair.

Are the bushes reamed to size?

Arrow

Yes the covers are ready to fit.

Can I use these on all classic Minis?

Arrow

Yes, apart from those with original Cooper S output shafts. The MED covers are designed to run with 1.250" diameter output shafts, the later pot joint size, which we also use on all MED output shafts and adapters.

Do they fit both remote and rod change gearboxes?

Arrow

Yes, but on the remote gearbox housing, you may need to lightly machine one of the covers for clearance - please email us on this and we can advise further. It is not a difficult procedure.

Are replacement seals and bushes available if I need them in future?

Arrow

Yes we have purposely designed these to use standard replacement oil seals and bushes, although you would need to ream the inner bushes once installed, if you do change them in future.

What size hex socket/Allen key will I need for the fixings?

Arrow

These are 1/4" AF - best to use a socket and torque to 18lb.ft.
