Description

MED steel billet pushrods are CNC machined on a very specialist machine from solid high-carbon steel, then heat treated. The central section is larger in diameter than standard to reduce flex at high RPM.

We would recommend these for all performance engine builds with uprated valve springs, and especially for trackday and competition usage with high RPM levels.

These are available in three different lengths to suit 1275, 998 and Arden eight-port engines - choose from the options above.

MED pushrods do not have pressed-in ends that can come loose; they are machined from solid.

Supplied as an engine set of eight.

Please note - the colour/finish of our pushrods is subject to change. This is purely aesthetic and has no effect on performance or longevity.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need to up-rate my A-Series pushrods?

Arrow

It's highly recommended when increased valve spring loads and engine speeds are employed, which can cause the standard pushrods to deflect, affecting valve timing and long-term reliability. MED pushrods are stiffer than the standard items to reduce deflection, with heat treated ends to improve longevity. We'd use them in any high performance A-Series engine.

What's the material spec?

Arrow

MED pushrods are machined from EN24T steel, with induction hardening to the ends post machining. They are machined in one piece from solid, as we have found this to be a more reliable design than those with separate pressed-in ends.

Can I use these in any A-Series engine?

Arrow

Yes, we keep three different lengths to suit 1098/998, 1275 and 1275 with an Arden 8-port head. They can be used in anything from a standard engine to full race.

Can you make me a set of custom pushrods?

Arrow

Sorry, it's not viable to make a custom set. If you'd like a large batch, let us know and we can take a look.

Are there any fitment issues to be aware of?

Arrow

Although larger in diameter (6.5mm in the centre section) than standard, these are a direct replacement and should not cause any clearance issues. If you have a full-race cylinder head with sleeved pushrod tubes, or a more extreme race cam, check for clearance as part of the dry build.
