This is quite specific to those using the MED pinion support housing, who also wish to run a pair of lower gearbox steadies, such as the MED-5556-GS kit. The pinion support housing uses socket cap head fixings for a neat flush finish, so when you install longer fixings for a gearbox steady bar, these adapters fill the void to give the best support.
