Description
If you have an MED Cambelt Drive conversion or MED Cam Timing Cover, this pointer makes a handy reference for setting the ignition timing with a strobe light.
The pointer fixes to the boss for the crank position sensor at the bottom of the timing cover with the two button-head screws supplied.
Simply turn the engine to TDC, then use a paint pen or scribe from the pointer to your crankshaft pulley. You will need to remove the front grille of a Mini for better access with the timing light.

How does this work?
The pointer works as a simple reference point for ignition timing when using an MED cambelt or cam timing cover kit. You will need to rotate the engine to TDC and mark across from the pointer to the crankshaft pulley.
Will it line up with the timing marks on my standard pulley?
No, so it's essential to use the technique mentioned above to get this set correctly. The standard cam timing covers had their pointers in many different locations, so do not rely on using the standard timing marks.
What's this made from?
We 3D print these from a heat and chemical-resistant nylon, so they add minimal weight and expense to the timing cover.
Can I retrofit this to my MED timing cover or cambelt kit?
Yes, but you will need to remove the crankshaft pulley for better access to the fixings.
I've lost the fixings - what size are they?
These are M6 x 20mm button-head screws.
